We measure the brake force imbalance between the wheels on each axle, as a percentage, together with braking efficiency. Faults in drums, discs, linings, brake chambers and cylinders show up on the test.
Commercial vehicles and trailers are inspected once a year, and the brakes are the first system checked. ADR fleets have their brakes inspected twice a year.
